‘Pro-Yun’ Kim Min-soo: "It’s not true that Jang Dong-hyuk was involved in the ‘Resolute Agreement’ discussion… He pleaded for more time"

Kim Min-soo, a pro-Yoon member of the People Power Party, denied reports that Jang Dong-hyuk was involved in discussions about the ‘Resolute Agreement,’ asserting that Jang was instead asking for more time during a political meeting.

On November 11, Kim Min-soo, a member of the ruling People Power Party with pro-Yoon allegiance, refuted claims that fellow party member Jang Dong-hyuk was involved in preliminary discussions regarding the controversial ‘Resolute Agreement.’ Kim stated that during a recent meeting, Jang requested additional time from party members who were expressing demands and concerns, emphasizing the need to listen to public sentiment. He took to Facebook to clarify his position, highlighting the importance of Jang's role within the party, especially over the past six months.

During a recent meeting held at a restaurant in Namyangju, with key party leaders discussing party strategies, Kim insisted that reports suggesting Jang was aware of the agreement beforehand and remained silent during the discussions were incorrect. According to Kim's account, while he and Jang were present, the primary conversation revolved around the direction the party should take, and the majority opinion from other leaders was that they should distance themselves from pro-Yoon factions. This created tension as some party members were frustrated and critical of Jang, further complicating the party's dynamics ahead of upcoming elections.

Kim emphasized the importance of understanding differing views, but he also noted that the pro-Yoon faction represents a significant voice among the youth and citizens advocating for democratic values and checks on the current administration. He conveyed that Jang had repeatedly pleaded for two to three weeks to address the concerns and assert the party’s position adequately, which reflects the urgency of navigating the internal party conflicts while preparing for future electoral contests. Kim concluded that the term ‘resolution’ was never mentioned during the meeting, revealing ongoing fractures within the party's leadership regarding strategy and cooperation.
