Amnesty International has reported that Palestinian women in the Gaza Strip are bearing the brunt of the genocide being perpetrated by Israel for the past 29 months, marked by widespread forced displacement and the breakdown of healthcare systems, leading to deteriorating living conditions. The organization emphasizes that women are facing compounded challenges, including unsafe conditions for childbirth, reduced reproductive health services, and difficulties in accessing food, medicine, clean water, and shelter materials. Furthermore, the physical and psychological harm intensifies due to repeated displacement and ongoing bombardments.

The Secretary General of Amnesty International, Agnes Callamard, voiced deep concerns about the situation, stating that women in Gaza are deprived of necessary conditions for safe living and childbirth, asserting that these hardships are not merely collateral damage of the war, but a direct result of deliberate policies undermining their rights to health, safety, dignity, and a future. This statement underscores the stark reality of women's rights amid conflict, showing how systemic violations are exacerbated during times of war and crisis.

The report drew on interviews conducted between February 5 and February 24 with 41 women, all of whom are forcibly displaced, with some suffering from severe health issues due to the lack of adequate care and resources. These testimonies provide a grim insight into the humanitarian crisis affecting women, revealing a pattern of neglect and violence that extends beyond immediate physical dangers, affecting their psychological well-being and long-term prospects.
