Ukraine hits military targets in Russian-occupied Donetsk Oblast, video shows
Ukraine's Special Operations Forces have released video footage of successful strikes on military targets in Russian-occupied Donetsk, including a fuel storage facility and an electronic warfare station.
On March 10, Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SSO) announced successful strikes against military facilities in the Russian-occupied Donetsk oblast. The operation involved targeting a storage base and distribution point for fuel and lubricants in Makiivka. This strategic move is aimed at disrupting the logistics and supply chains of Russian forces in the area. Additionally, drone strikes were conducted against a Volna-3 electronic warfare station in Donetsk, which was being used to counter incoming Ukrainian drones.
The SSO has emphasized the importance of asymmetric warfare strategies, intending to severely impair the enemy's operational capabilities and disrupt their ability to wage war against Ukraine. The use of drones to strike critical infrastructure showcases the evolving nature of modern warfare, where technology plays a crucial role in operations. Such strikes serve not only to damage military resources but also to bolster Ukraine's public morale and demonstrate ongoing resistance against Russian occupation.
Furthermore, the involvement of local partisan groups in these operations reflects a growing and coordinated resistance within occupied territories. The Special Operations Forces' Resistance Movement has played a significant role in gathering intelligence and assisting in executing these strikes, indicating an expanding network of local collaboration against occupying forces. This development signals a potential shift in the conflict, showcasing that even within occupied regions, resistance is substantive and might affect the overall dynamics of the war between Ukraine and Russia.
