Mahmoud Kheib, the president of Al Ahly Sports Club, has imposed financial penalties on players following their recent 1-2 loss to Tala'ea El Gaish in the Egyptian Premier League.
Mahmoud Kheib, the president of Al Ahly, has taken decisive action against the team following a disappointing performance which culminated in a 1-2 defeat to Tala'ea El Gaish, a match rescheduled from the 15th round of the Egyptian Premier League. In a formal announcement, the club revealed that Kheib has decided to fine first-team players by deducting 30% of their salaries and suspending 25% of their contract values until the team's competitive status in both the league and the African Champions League is clearly defined.
Additionally, the club has decided to expedite the first teamβs travel plans to Tunisia for their upcoming match against Esperance in the quarter-finals of the African Champions League, with the team now scheduled to depart from Cairo Airport on Thursday instead of Friday. This strategic change is intended to provide the coaching staff with better preparation time for this critical encounter. The swift response underlines the club's high standards and expectations, especially during a pivotal part of the season.
Furthermore, Kheib's decisions include conducting an urgent evaluation of all staff involved in the football sector, led by Yassin Mansour, the club's vice president, and Sayed Abdel Hafiz, a board member. This assessment aims at restructuring the departments associated with the first team, youth teams, women's football, and the academy in alignment with the club's ambitions and aspirations from its fan base, highlighting the significant operational changes underway within the club to enhance performance and accountability.
