The Maranhão Civil Police (PC-MA) conducted an operation on Monday where they executed search and seizure warrants against individuals suspected of being involved in a drug trafficking scheme in the Parque Aliança neighborhood of Timon, located 450 km from São Luís. During the operation, officers arrested a 23-year-old woman and seized nearly two kilograms of cocaine, over one kilogram of crack cocaine, and two precision scales used for measuring the drugs.

Investigations led by the Division of Intelligence and Capture (DICAP) and the Homicide and Person Protection Delegacy (DHPP) in Timon revealed that a currently imprisoned trafficker was still managing the illegal drug trade from behind bars. Police have stated that a couple was primarily responsible for the sale and distribution of narcotics within the municipality. Despite these arrests, the investigation remains ongoing, with the goal of identifying all parties involved in this criminal network and apprehending the male suspect still at large.

This operation highlights the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in Brazil, particularly in areas like Timon, which are often affected by crime and violence associated with drug trade. The disruption of such networks is crucial for enhancing public safety and reducing the prevalence of substance abuse in the community.
