The complete mapping of the sports ecosystem is available to all regions
The Greek Minister of Sports, Giannis Vroutsis, has presented a comprehensive map of the Greek sports ecosystem to the country's thirteen regional governors for the first time.
In a significant development for the management and promotion of sports in Greece, the Minister of Sports, Giannis Vroutsis, has unveiled a comprehensive mapping of the Greek sports ecosystem, which has been distributed to the thirteen regional governors. This innovative initiative was presented during a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Association of Regions of Greece (ENPE), where the minister detailed the capabilities of the e-Kouros system, designed to enhance the understanding of the sports landscape across various localities.
The e-Kouros system, complemented by a Business Intelligence subsystem, enables regional administrations to access detailed data regarding sports within their jurisdictions. This technological advancement ensures that local government officials are well-informed about the sporting scene in each region, municipality, and regional unit. The mapping tool is expected to be a crucial resource for strategic planning and investment in local sports infrastructure and activities.
Furthermore, this initiative marks a collaborative effort between various government sectors, as the map was also shared with the Minister of Interior, Thodoris Livanios, as well as the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDKE) and the Association of Passenger Shipping Enterprises (SEEN), demonstrating a unified approach to enhancing Greece's sports ecosystem. By equipping local authorities with accurate and updated information, the initiative aims to promote sports development and ensure that all regions have the resources necessary to support their sporting communities.
