Aliyu Vatsa, a 30-year-old Point of Sale operator, was brutally murdered in Minna, Niger State, by suspected assailants who broke into his home early Monday morning. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the attackers ignored Vatsa's desperate pleas and offers of money, stating their intention was to kill him. The assailants used a knife to stab him in the stomach and followed up with multiple machete strikes, highlighting the extreme violence involved in the incident.

Despite the victim's cries for help, neighbors were unable to intervene effectively as they rushed to assist him. After the attack, Vatsa was taken to a local police station before being transported to the General Hospital in Minna, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The tragic event raises concerns about safety and law enforcement effectiveness in the area, given the boldness of the assailants and the failure to apprehend them.

The victim’s brother, Ibrahim Kolo, confirmed the death and noted that Vatsa was buried the same morning in accordance with Muslim customs.
