Local Elections in the Dachau District: AfD Gains a Foothold in the Dachau District
The AfD has more than doubled its number of seats in municipal and political bodies in the Dachau district during local elections, marking a significant increase in its presence.
The recent local elections in the Dachau district saw the far-right party Alternative for Germany (AfD) significantly increase its influence, more than doubling its representation in various municipal councils. For the first time, representatives from the AfD will sit in the councils of several municipalities including Röhrmoos, Erdweg, Bergkirchen, Altomünster, Pfaffenhofen a. d. Glonn, and Hilgertshausen-Tandern. The party already held seats in Odelzhausen and the city council of Dachau six years ago, but the recent elections enabled it to further expand its presence. Members of the AfD will now occupy almost half of all municipal councils in the Dachau district, illustrating a notable shift in the political landscape.
