Robbery in Boedo: his accomplice resisted gunfire, he managed to escape but was caught almost a year later
A suspect involved in a robbery in Boedo, Argentina, has been arrested nearly a year after fleeing the scene, following the capture of his accomplice who was injured during the incident.
On March 25, nearly a year ago, an armed robbery took place at a store in the Boedo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, where two criminals threatened employees and customers. The robbery was interrupted by a police officer in the area, who, while on the toilet, alerted colleagues, leading to a confrontation where one of the robbers was shot and apprehended, while the other managed to escape. The escaping suspect remained at large for almost 12 months until he was finally apprehended by detectives from the Argentine Federal Police (PFA) in Ciudad Evita, La Matanza. The arrest came after a thorough investigation that tracked his movements since the crime, which included the use of firearms that aggravated the charges against him. At the time of his arrest, the 34-year-old suspect was charged with aggravated robbery due to the use of a firearm and is now held at the disposal of Judge Alejandra ProvΓtol of the National Criminal and Correctional Court. This incident underscores ongoing issues with violent crime in Buenos Aires, prompting discussions about public safety and law enforcement effectiveness in addressing such crimes.
