In the morning of Tuesday, October 10, a traffic accident occurred on the MGC-491 highway in Alfenas, Minas Gerais, where a 40-year-old driver crashed his pickup truck into a truck. According to the Fire Department, a third vehicle, which was also traveling on the highway at the time of the impact, collided with the rear of the pickup, complicating the situation. Emergency teams were quickly mobilized to respond to the incident.

The Fire Department reported that the driver of the pickup was trapped in the wreckage but was conscious and oriented despite sustaining significant injuries, including fractures in his left leg and arm. Fortunately, the drivers of both the truck and the third vehicle involved were not injured. The situation highlighted the importance of adhering to safe driving practices on busy highways, especially under challenging conditions.

Rescue teams, including SAMU and the highway concessionaire, provided immediate assistance. After being extricated from the vehicle and stabilized, the injured driver was evaluated on-site by SAMU paramedics and subsequently transported to the Hospital Universitário Alzira Velano for further treatment. This incident raises concerns about road safety in the region and the need for robust measures to prevent similar accidents in the future.
