A poetic rescue of the light that fades with GPS

Argentinian artist Matilde Marín showcases her work, focusing on lighthouses and their fading importance in the GPS age, through exhibitions in Uruguay and soon in Saudi Arabia.

For over three decades, Matilde Marín's images of lighthouses have traveled around the world, highlighting the diminishing role of these beacons in the era of GPS technology. Marín not only seeks to preserve the memory of lighthouses that have ceased to operate but also transforms them into metaphors and poetry, reflecting on the turbulence of the contemporary world. Her artistic journey has taken her from the Strait of Magellan to the Red Sea, culminating in an upcoming exhibition in October at the Red Sea Museum in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Currently, her work can be viewed at the PROYECTO PHARUS exhibition
