G. Nausėda awarded the highest state award of Moldova to M. Sandu

During a press conference held at the president's palace, Moldova's President Maia Sandu acknowledged the personal commitment of Lithuania's President Gitanas Nausėda to their friendship, expressing gratitude for Lithuania's support in Moldova's efforts towards European Union integration. The recognition comes as part of Moldova's Presidential decree, awarding Nausėda for his exceptional contributions to the development and strengthening of relations between Moldova and Lithuania.

In 2022, President Nausėda previously honored President Sandu with Lithuania's highest award, the Order of Vytautas the Great, with a gold chain, reflecting the deepening diplomatic ties and mutual respect between the two nations. This relationship has been particularly significant in the context of Moldova's European aspirations, showcasing Lithuania’s commitment to supporting its neighbor.

President Sandu is currently visiting Lithuania, where she is scheduled to meet with Nausėda and other officials.
