Crowd at Gas Agencies, Customers Flood Centers
In Uttar Pradesh, the tension in Gulf countries has started to impact the supply of commercial gas cylinders, causing delays and customer frustration.
Tensions in the Gulf countries are beginning to affect the gas supply in Uttar Pradesh, with reports indicating significant delays in the delivery of commercial gas cylinders in Lucknow. Over the past two days, hotel and restaurant operators, along with caterers, are facing heightened difficulties as the supply issues disrupt their operations. This scenario not only threatens the livelihood of these businesses but also raises concerns about the overall gas supply chain resulting in a ripple effect on local economy.
Customers are also facing longer waiting times for domestic gas cylinders, which earlier could be delivered the day after booking but now take between five to seven days. The situation is compounded by a reduction in the domestic cylinders' quota by gas agencies, which has been cut down by 20 to 25 percent. This increased demand without corresponding supply is leaving many households and businesses in a lurch, highlighting the fragility of the supply chain during international tensions.
With about 105 gas agencies in the city and a daily average consumption of 25,000 cylinders, the current chaos underscores the urgency for government interventions or logistics reassessments to manage the supply effectively and protect consumers and businesses during these challenging times.
