Latvian national team playmaker Zoriks ends collaboration with "Udine"

Latvian basketball player Kristers Zoriks will not continue his career with the Italian Serie A team Udine and is set to join the Turkish league team Denizli "Merkezefendi".

Latvian basketball player Kristers Zoriks has decided to part ways with the Italian Serie A club Udine, as reported by the team on Tuesday. Zoriks joined Udine in January, but during his time there, he appeared in six matches, averaging 2.8 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists. Despite the potential in his position, it seems his performance did not meet the club's expectations, leading to the termination of his collaboration.

Following his departure from Udine, reports indicate that Zoriks will continue his career in Turkey, specifically with the team Denizli "Merkezefendi". The Turkish league is known for its competitive nature, and Denizli is currently striving to qualify for the playoffs, although the club has yet to officially announce Zoriks' signing. This move suggests that Zoriks is seeking an opportunity to showcase his talent in a different environment where he might have a more significant role.

Earlier in the season, Zoriks began his journey with the Spanish ACB league team Lleida but ended that partnership in early January after only 14 games averaging 4.2 points, 1.6 assists, and 0.9 rebounds. The previous season, he played for the French team Le Portel, helping them secure their place in the French top league with notable averages. This series of changes indicates a period of transition for Zoriks as he looks to find a suitable position to enhance his basketball career.
