The law office of Ibaneis Rocha, the governor of the Federal District, secured a million-dollar contract in 2024 with the Reag Investments fund, which is suspected of being involved with Banco Master in structuring funds for atypical operations. This agreement was reportedly concluded in May 2024, occurring well before the Compliance Zero operation and the liquidation of both Banco Master and Reag in the subsequent months. The Banco de Brasília (BRB) injected R$ 16.7 billion into Banco Master during this time, and although an attempt was made to purchase the bank, the Central Bank blocked the transaction, leaving BRB in a position to try to recover its funds.
