Former model Álvaro Jacomossi is charged with drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm in Florianópolis

Álvaro Jacomossi, a former international model, has been charged with drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm in Brazil.

Álvaro Jacomossi Júnior, a 45-year-old former international model, has been charged by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Brazil for drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm. The charges were announced on Monday, with a request for his temporary detention to be converted into preventive custody. Jacomossi was arrested on February 21 in Barra da Lagoa, Florianópolis, under suspicion of supplying drugs at high-end parties in the capital.

Prior to his arrest, he was already under investigation and had been the subject of a search and seizure warrant on February 10. During that incident, he reportedly jumped from the window of his own guesthouse at Praia da Joaquina and hid in a wooded area after police arrived to conduct the search. The charges presented in the Capital's Guarantees Court detail the evidence collected against him, including the discovery of drug portions in his property.

As the case develops, it remains unclear how the justice system will respond as the Public Prosecutor awaits further action from the court. Jacomossi's defense has yet to be publicly reached for comment, raising questions about the implications of these charges on his past career and public image, particularly within the international modeling community.
