10 Years Since the Murder of a Woman in Gamagori, Aichi: Family Calls for Information
Ten years have passed since the murder of Katsuyo Sugiura in Gamagori, Aichi, prompting her family to distribute informational materials and call for tips on the case.
It has been a decade since the tragic murder of 73-year-old Katsuyo Sugiura at her home in Gamagori, Aichi Prefecture. On the anniversary of her death, her family, including her son Tsukasa and his wife Takako, partnered with local police to distribute 1,500 pocket tissues containing flyers seeking information related to the case. Sugiura was discovered dead on the night of March 10, 2016, with a cellphone charging cord wrapped around her neck, suggesting strangulation by an unknown assailant. Despite significant resources with over 38,000 police officers involved in the investigation, no suspects have been arrested.
