Afore XXI Banorte channels more than 6 billion pesos into projects for women in Mexico

Afore XXI Banorte is investing over 6 billion pesos to promote gender equality and support women in Mexico through financial initiatives and organizational culture changes.

In celebration of Women's Month, Afore XXI Banorte reiterated its commitment to substantive equality, inclusion, and the elimination of discrimination by taking actions aimed at reducing gender gaps, both in its investment strategy and organizational culture. The firm emphasized its support for investments that foster social well-being and enhance women's economic independence. Notably, 83% of the local issuers and alternative assets it engages with now have formal diversity and inclusion policies in place.

The Afore has allocated 6,794 million pesos to institutions that provide loans to working and entrepreneurial women. As a result of this funding, approximately 48,000 women have gained access to financing that will help them boost their businesses, create jobs, and strengthen their financial independence. This financial backing underlines Afore XXI Banorte's role in promoting not only economic opportunities for women but also in addressing broader social equity issues.

Moreover, the investments made by Afore XXI Banorte also extend to health initiatives that further support women's well-being. By focusing on comprehensive support that includes financial services, employment creation, and health initiatives, the Afore aims to transform the landscape for women in Mexico, aligning with national and global agendas for gender equality. This strategic direction reflects a growing recognition of the importance of gender equity in investment practices, indicating a shift towards more inclusive economic growth.
