The military escalation continues along the southern Lebanese border, where Hezbollah fighters are directly confronting Israeli forces attempting to penetrate multiple fronts. Reports from Israeli media suggest official intentions to expand the 'buffer zone' within Lebanese territory in coordination with Washington. Hezbollah has confirmed that its militants are actively engaging Israeli attempts to advance at the southern periphery of the town of Hasbaya.
Hezbollah disclosed that its fighters have engaged in fierce battles with advancing Israeli units, successfully neutralizing two 'Merkava' tanks, one of which was reported to be on fire. The group also targeted evacuation forces attempting to recover the damaged vehicles with appropriate weaponry and conducted shelling on a newly established position in the 'Tallet al-Hammas' area south of the town. Furthermore, Hezbollah reported that it attacked an Israeli force trying to infiltrate towards the border town of Houla with a rocket barrage, as well as striking an Israeli troop assembly east of the town of Maroun al-Ras with a similar rocket attack, effectively hitting concentrations of soldiers and vehicles in the towns of Al-Aytah and Bint Jbeil.
