Man arrested in Madona for tagging several building facades
A man was arrested in Madona for vandalizing the facades of several buildings over the past weekend.
Last weekend in Madona, Latvia, a man was apprehended for defacing the facades of multiple buildings, as reported by the State Police. Following reports that four apartment buildings and a store had been tagged, authorities from the Vidzeme Regional Police's South Vidzeme Department began investigating the incidents to unearth the circumstances and identify the culprit.
Through operational and investigative actions, the police identified a suspect, a man born in 2000, who was detained on Saturday, March 7. Upon searching him, officers discovered three spray paint cans in black, red, and purple. Subsequently, the State Police initiated a criminal process, and a pre-trial investigation is underway to determine the extent of the damages caused by the vandalism.
Police expressed gratitude to the local residents for their assistance in identifying the possible perpetrator. This case has been classified under Article 185 of the Criminal Law, which pertains to propelling the investigation further, as authorities calculate the material losses associated with the crime.
