Onnibus introduces premium class to its new buses – can sit on vegan leather seats
Onnibus will launch nine new single-decker buses with a premium class featuring vegan leather seats in spring 2024.
Onnibus, a Finnish bus service, is set to introduce nine new single-decker buses with a premium class expected to debut in spring 2024. According to a statement from the company, demand for such a service has been tested since June 2025, indicating growing interest among consumers for enhanced travel experiences. The premium seating will include eight seats at the front of the bus, providing more legroom and improved seating quality, featuring additional supports and vegan leather upholstery.
The premium class will also come with advanced amenities like a foldable and adjustable table, cup holders, and space for tablets, which is targeted at customers looking for a more comfortable journey. The new buses, manufactured in the Netherlands, will have a total of 53 seating positions, enhancing the overall travel experience from what is typically offered in standard buses.
While Onnibus did not disclose how much more expensive the premium tickets will be compared to standard seats, it was reported that current premium seats cost about 3-5 euros more than basic options. This pricing strategy reflects a trend in the bus service industry where providing higher levels of comfort can attract more passengers, highlighting the need for transport companies to innovate and adapt to changing customer preferences to remain competitive.
