The Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Nazareth begins its annual visit to the episcopal regions of the Archdiocese of Belém this weekend, starting on March 14.
This weekend marks the beginning of the annual pilgrimage of the Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Nazareth, which will visit various regions of the Archdiocese of Belém over the weekend. The first stop of the visitation is in the Santa Maria Goretti region, commencing with a ceremony at the Santa Maria de Belém parish. Following this, the image will travel to the São Domingos de Gusmão parish and will reach the São José de Queluz parish by the afternoon, concluding its first day of visits at the Santo Antônio do Tucunduba parish with a vigil service until the following morning.
On the second day, March 15, the visitation will start early morning at the São Pedro and São Paulo parish, continuing through other communities like Santa Maria Goretti and São Francisco de Assis, and finishing at the Nossa Senhora de Fátima parish. The initiative, ongoing since 2022, aims to enhance evangelization and ensure that the presence of Our Lady of Nazareth reaches local neighborhoods and communities. This event not only strengthens faith among attendees but also fosters a sense of community engagement and local tradition, underlining the cultural significance of this pilgrimage in the region.
The 2026 calendar for these visits indicates the growing relevance and organization of this annual event, which has become a central fixture in the religious life of Belém. As communities eagerly anticipate the visitation each year, it highlights the importance of local religious traditions in shaping the identity and social fabric of the region, encouraging collective participation and spiritual reflection throughout the Archdiocese.
