The concerns were particularly spotlighted following a report from the journalism center "Siena," which revealed that Aidas Gedvilas, a parliament member from the "Nemuno aušros" party, supported legislative amendments favorable to the fuel chain "Jozita." This support is troubling because it suggests a potential conflict of interest, given that his family's business had previous financial dealings with the company. Olekas pointed out that the intertwining of political decisions with private interests raises significant ethical questions regarding governance and oversight.

Furthermore, an investigation by several news outlets, including 15min, LRT, and others, uncovered that prominent individuals within the party may be involved in financial activities that warrant further scrutiny. Reports indicated that 17 individuals linked to the parliament member Robertas Puchovičius contributed approximately 60,000 euros to the party in 2024. Such revelations prompt questions about the integrity of political financing in Lithuania and the role of media investigations in uncovering these critical issues.
