At least 18 people injured in drone attacks in Dnipro and Kharkiv
Drone attacks in Dnipro and Kharkiv, Ukraine, have resulted in at least 18 injuries, including a 12-year-old boy.
In a troubling escalation of the conflict, drone strikes in Ukraine's Dnipro city and Kharkiv have left at least 18 individuals injured, with the youngest victim being a 12-year-old boy. Dnipro was particularly hard-hit, where enemy drones targeted several high-rise residential buildings, igniting fires and causing significant damage to the structures while the impact on civilian life remains profound.
Kharkiv also reported at least eight injuries due to similar drone attacks, particularly in one of the city's largest residential areas where multiple cars caught fire and windows were shattered in lower-floor apartments. The ongoing assaults highlight the brutal impact of the conflict on civilians and the continuous threats posed by aerial assaults in populated areas.
As Russia intensifies its attacks, President Vladimir Putin engaged in a telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump during the assaults, marking their first communication since December of the previous year. The discussion reportedly centered on the situation in the Middle East and the ongoing war in Ukraine. The Kremlin described the conversation as "direct and constructive," reflecting the complexity of international relations amid rampant violence, including the potential easing of sanctions on Russian oil due to rising energy prices exacerbated by the war in Iran.
