A 17-year-old boy, who is not allowed to be named, is appealing his 16-year prison sentence for the murder of 70-year-old Vyleen White, which took place during a robbery in Redbank Plains. The teenager had previously pleaded guilty to murder and other offenses, including unlawfully using Ms. White's vehicle, after he fatally stabbed her in the chest in February 2024, an incident that was witnessed by her granddaughter.
