"Trump, Look into Their Eyes"... Iranian Newspaper Features Photos of Children Killed in Minab Airstrike
The Iranian newspaper Tehran Times criticized U.S. President Donald Trump for his denial of responsibility regarding a recent airstrike that killed children at a school in Minab, Iran.
The Iranian daily, Tehran Times, prominently featured the haunting message "Trump, Look into Their Eyes" alongside photographs of children who lost their lives in a U.S. airstrike on a school in Minab on September 28. This provocative display aims to hold President Donald Trump accountable for the attack, which reportedly resulted in numerous casualties among Iranian children. The newspaper also highlighted Trump’s ongoing denial of responsibility for the bombardment, asserting that hundreds of Iranian children have died, yet he continues to refute the incident’s occurrence.
The attack targeted the Shajareh Tayeva elementary school, reportedly connected with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval force, which serves predominantly the children of naval families. While the school is situated in a region dense with IRGC support buildings, the published images and the death toll included both male and female students, raising questions about their presence in a mostly girls' school. Tehran Times further criticized Trump's remarks concerning the military intervention in Iran, labeling them as a mix of falsehoods, an evasion of accountability for his administration's violent actions, and a stubborn refusal to seek diplomatic resolutions.
In contrast, President Trump had publicly declared on October 7, following an airstrike that caused over 165 deaths, that Iran was responsible, citing the low precision and reliability of Iranian weaponry. However, he failed to provide any supporting evidence for his claims. A subsequent report by CNN indicated that experts believed the missile that struck near the school resembled a cruise missile commonly used by U.S. forces, underscoring the complex geopolitical tensions surrounding the events in Iran.
