BTS opens ‘Arirang’ popup store…selling traditional culture goods

BTS is set to launch a popup store featuring goods inspired by traditional Korean culture ahead of their new album ‘Arirang’ release.

BTS has announced the opening of a popup store called ‘BTS Popup: Arirang’ ahead of the release of their new album of the same name. The popup will take place in two locations in Seoul: the Shinsegae Department Store in Jung-gu and the HYBE headquarters in Yongsan. It will run for 24 days, from April 20 to April 12, and entry will be managed by a reservation system through the fan platform Weverse to ensure visitor safety and manage crowds.

The popup store will feature a range of official merchandise that reflects elements of Korean culture. Products will be designed in line with the album’s concept, which modernly interprets traditional Korean aesthetics. Notably, BTS has collaborated with the National Museum of Korea’s cultural product brand ‘Meots’ to create items that incorporate traditional designs and colors presented through modern design perspectives. This collaboration highlights how K-pop artists can work with cultural institutions to promote the value of Korean culture on a global stage.

In addition to the collaboration items, the popup store will offer various official merchandise such as hoodies and ball caps. Some items will be available for pre-sale starting April 12 on Weverse Shop, while the full range will be available for purchase at the popup beginning April 20. On the same day as their album release, products will also be sold at the National Museum of Korea, underlining the event's significance and promotion of cultural heritage alongside BTS's music. The new album ‘Arirang’ is scheduled to be revealed at 1 PM on April 20, followed by a comeback performance at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on April 21.
