A woman disappeared in Vitória da Conquista, a city in southwestern Bahia, Brazil, after being swept away in a flood during intense rain on Monday, October 9. The city experienced approximately 30 mm of rainfall over a span of two hours, prompting concerns about safety during such severe weather conditions.

According to police reports, the victim was in an app-based ride when floodwaters overtook the vehicle on Avenida Caracas. Eyewitness videos circulating on social media show that both the woman and the driver managed to exit the car, but only the driver successfully escaped the rising water while the passenger was swept away.

The 7th Battalion of the Military Fire Brigade has confirmed that it is conducting search operations for the missing woman, whose identity has not been disclosed.
