The municipality of Alagoinhas, located 48 km from Feira de Santana in Bahia, has initiated a mobilization plan aimed at increasing enrollment in the Education of Young People and Adults (EJA) program. This program is designed to enhance access to education and encourages young adults and adults to return to the classroom. The initiative responds to a prevalent need for educational reintegration among residents and emphasizes community involvement in promoting learning opportunities.

As part of this initiative, the municipal government has introduced a monthly financial incentive of R$ 100 for students enrolled in the EJA program, to be provided through the Bolsa Presença program. This financial support is intended not only to attract more students but also to help ensure their continued attendance and engagement in their studies, addressing barriers that may prevent them from pursuing education.

Rita Bastos, the municipal Secretary of Education, highlighted that the initiative targets young individuals starting from the age of 15 who are eager to resume their educational journey. The plan is a significant step towards fostering inclusivity in education and helps to create opportunities for individuals looking to improve their skills and qualifications, thereby contributing to their personal and professional development.
