Caio Giovane Alves Cavalcante, aged 28, has been sentenced to 42 years of imprisonment for the heinous crime of killing his partner, Isabele da Silva dos Santos, 32, by asphyxiation in their home in the Barro Preto neighborhood of Aquiraz, located in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza. The tragic incident occurred in January 2025, following a heated argument between the couple fueled by jealousy. The couple's nine-year-old son, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder, witnessed the brutal act, adding further distress to an already devastating situation.

The sentencing decision was rendered by the Jury Court in Aquiraz's sole Criminal Court on March 2nd.
