Director of the Krkonošsko National Park resigns. Minister Červený dismissed him by mutual agreement

Robin Böhnisch has been dismissed as the head of the Krkonošsko National Park after an agreement with Environment Minister Igor Červený.

Robin Böhnisch, who served as the director of the Krkonošsko National Park since January 2018, has been removed from his position by Environment Minister Igor Červený. The removal is said to have occurred mutually, but no further details regarding the reasons for Böhnisch's dismissal have been provided by either the ministry or the park administration.

In the interim, Michal Servus, the senior director of the nature and landscape protection section at the ministry, has been tasked with overseeing the management of the park. The ministry has also announced that a standard selection process will be launched in the coming weeks to fill the director position permanently. The lack of clarity regarding the reasons behind Böhnisch's departure has raised concerns among local stakeholders.

The mayor of Vrchlabí, Jan Sobotka, who is also the chairman of the Krkonoš municipalities association and the senators' club of mayors, criticized the minister's decision. Sobotka noted that Böhnisch was effective in bridging the work of nature conservation with open communication among municipalities, businesses, and the public, thereby leading the park administration as a strong institutional force.
