Concert 'For My Homeland' ticket buyers ready to go to court
Lawyer Gundars Ūdris plans to represent ticket buyers in a lawsuit against the organizers of the concert 'For My Homeland', claiming they were misled about the participation of maestro Raimonds Pauls.
The organizers of the song festival 'For My Homeland' have requested choirs to reaffirm their participation, receiving confirmation from approximately 6,000 singers from Latvia and the diaspora. However, many ticket buyers are reluctant to attend due to concerns over misleading representations regarding the involvement of maestro Raimonds Pauls, who has distanced himself from the event. Lawyer Gundars Ūdris has indicated his intention to take legal action as he believes that the concert organizers have misled people into thinking that Pauls would be a part of the concert. He is preparing to represent at least ten ticket buyers in court, emphasizing that despite the concerns, the ticket vendor has stated that the event is still on, and refunds are not being accepted. The situation has highlighted ongoing disputes between composer Raimonds Pauls and the event organizers regarding the concert's execution and the use of Paul's name in initial announcements. This controversy continues to unfold as the organizers have declined to comment further, promising to provide more details soon regarding the event's status and developments.
