Cranes operate for the second day in vehicle removal from the Multicomercio building
For the second day, cranes have been actively removing vehicles from the area affected by the fire at the Multicomercio building in Ecuador.
Cranes have been deployed for a second consecutive day to remove vehicles from the ground zero of the fire at the Multicomercio building in Ecuador. The operation involves at least six workers, where two assist in securing the vehicles with harnesses, two monitor the operation, and others operate the crane itself. The cranes have set up on Febres-Cordero street, close to the Plaza de IntegraciΓ³n stop, a high-traffic area where owners have come to retrieve their vehicles.
On the first day of operations, a total of 19 vehicles, including motorcycles, cars, and trucks, were removed. On this day, approximately 25 minutes were taken to lift one of the vehicles, identified as the 20th vehicle to be extracted from the area. Owners are eager to reclaim their vehicles, often attempting to turn them on after retrieval; however, some vehicles have needed to be towed away after being lifted from the dangerous vicinity of the fire's aftermath.
The operations highlight the ongoing response to the fire incident and underscore the cooperation between various agencies and the efforts made to manage the situation effectively. This incident has not only caused disruption in the local area but also poses questions about safety and emergency management in densely populated urban centers like Guayaquil.
