‘Dust, wheels and also’... Cocaine seized in Acapulco: Navy finds 2 tons in 80 bundles
Near two tons of cocaine were seized during a maritime operation off the coast of Acapulco, Guerrero, according to the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch.
A significant seizure of approximately two tons of cocaine was announced by Omar García Harfuch, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection in Mexico. The operation took place over 200 nautical miles south-southwest of Acapulco, Guerrero, and involved the coordination of naval personnel and intelligence support. Following the operation, 80 bundles of cocaine were located and secured by the naval forces, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
The operation was carried out in conjunction with the Federal Attorney General's Office (FGR) and the Department of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), showcasing a collaborative approach to tackling organized crime in Mexico’s coastal areas. Once the naval vessel returns to port, the cocaine will be submitted to the appropriate authorities for investigation purposes, indicating the procedural steps taken in such high-stakes drug busts.
