Shell Theatre Award will be presented by Débora Falabella and Silvero Pereira
Débora Falabella, last year's winner of the Shell Theatre Award, will co-host this year's ceremony with Silvero Pereira in São Paulo.
The Shell Theatre Award, one of Brazil's most enduring and prestigious arts awards, will be presented this year by Débora Falabella, who won the Best Actress category in the previous edition, alongside actor Silvero Pereira. The ceremony is scheduled for the 18th of this month in São Paulo, showcasing a diverse range of theatrical productions. Notably, three plays, "O Motociclista no Globo da Morte," "João," and "(Um) Ensaio Sobre a Cegueira," have received the highest number of nominations, each with three nods.
In addition to recognizing individual performances, the awards encompass various categories that celebrate the breadth of theatrical arts, including acting, dramaturgy, set design, costumes, lighting, and music. Other nominated productions include "Negra Palavra – Poesia do Samba," "A Boca que Tudo Come (Do Cárcere às Ruas)," and "Favela de Barro – Instáveis Moradias em Queda." This year’s ceremony will also pay tribute to Zezé Motta, honoring her significant contributions to Brazilian theatre throughout her career.
