The incident occurred after the victim and her boyfriend were unable to find a ride home through their usual app. Instead, a man on a motorcycle approached them, claiming to be a driver, and offered to take the woman home while her boyfriend was instructed to go separately.

As the motorcycle deviated from the expected route and stopped in a secluded area near the Cauamé River bridge, the man assaulted her, with reports indicating he then stole her cellphone before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, the woman managed to escape and sought help from another driver who found her in distress, leading to her medical attention at a local maternity hospital.
