Pakistani Actress Offered 'Veer-Zaara', Refused Film for Son, Regrets?

Pakistani actress Nadia Jamil revealed that she turned down an offer to star in the iconic Indian film 'Veer-Zaara' to prioritize the birth of her son, leading to feelings of regret retrospectively.

Nadia Jamil, a renowned Pakistani actress, disclosed in a recent appearance on a Ramadan transmission show that she was offered a role in the acclaimed Indian film 'Veer-Zaara'. However, she chose to decline the offer due to a significant personal event — the birth of her son. At the time the film was set to begin shooting, Jamil welcomed her newborn son, which led her to prioritize family over her acting career for that moment in her life.

Despite having the support of her husband and in-laws in making her decision, Jamil felt that being present for her child during his early days was the most critical aspect of her life at that time. She expressed that while she was in talks with the film's producer Yash Chopra while she was already married, she was not pregnant. However, by the time of the film's production, she found herself in a position where her priorities shifted towards motherhood.

Reflecting on her choice years later, Jamil mentioned that her first son, who is now 24 years old, was just three months old when she made the decision to decline the role. Although she made a sacrifice for her family, Jamil now questions whether she might have regretted not taking up the role in such a pivotal film, which had a significant cultural impact and is beloved by many in the Indian film industry.
