In Gainesville, Georgia, a beloved math teacher and athletics coach named Jason Hughes was accidentally killed when he was struck by a car driven by a student, following a prank involving rolling his home with toilet paper. On the night of March 6, five teenagers arrived at Hughes' residence to engage in this common practical joke, which soon turned into tragedy when Hughes emerged outside as the teens were leaving.
