Tension between the Government and the Football Federation over the evacuation of players and coaches from countries affected by the war

Tensions have risen between the Spanish Football Federation and the Government regarding the evacuation of over 30,000 Spaniards affected by the conflict with Iran.

The evacuation of more than 30,000 Spaniards who reside or were in transit in countries affected by the war against Iran has generated tensions between the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the Spanish Government. A charter flight, carrying around one hundred players and coaching staff alongside their families and pets, is scheduled to depart from Riyadh's civil airport. This initiative is part of the Federation's effort to assist those trapped within the conflict-affected regions, primarily targeting sports sector workers. The flight is reportedly aimed at evacuating vulnerable residents, with approximately 60 seats reserved for them. The journey will include a stopover in Hurghada, Egypt, before arriving in Madrid.
