Max Verstappen, a prominent figure in Formula 1 and a four-time world champion, is set to compete in the upcoming Nürburgring 24-hour race, an announcement made by the race organizers this past Monday. The race is scheduled for May 16-17, just a few days before the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix. Verstappen will be racing with the "Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing" using a Mercedes-AMG GT3 car, which marks an exciting venture beyond his usual F-1 commitments.

Verstappen expressed his enthusiasm for the race, stating that participating in the Nürburgring 24-hour has long been on his wish list. He emphasized the importance of proper preparation ahead of the event to ensure the best possible results. This competition will provide Verstappen with a unique opportunity to showcase his skills in endurance racing, an area that complements the speed-focused world of Formula 1.

In preparation for the 24-hour race, Verstappen is also expected to participate in the Nürburgring endurance series on March 21, shortly after the F-1 Chinese Grand Prix.
