Suspects explode safe of a gas station on BR-101, in João Pessoa

A gas station on BR-101 in João Pessoa was targeted in an explosion, causing damage to the facility but no injuries reported.

Early Monday morning, suspects detonated a safe at a gas station located on the BR-101 highway in the Três Lagoas area of João Pessoa. The local military police were summoned to the scene and found that, despite the blast's force, the safe was not stolen. The explosion led to significant damage, including a diesel reservoir being hit by debris that caused a leak, prompting emergency services to act.

In response, the Fire Department isolated the area and temporarily halted gas station services to prevent further incidents while technical teams worked on site. Fortunately, the authorities confirmed that the leak posed no immediate explosion risk, allowing them to focus on safety measures. The explosion caused considerable destruction, including damage to the gas station's roof and the complete shattering of its convenience store's glass.

Investigators from the police have since conducted forensic examinations to collect evidence in hopes of identifying those responsible for the attack. As of the latest updates, the local community remains on alert as the investigation continues, reflecting concerns over safety in the context of rising crime rates in the area.
