The situation took her by surprise, as she stated, 'It came completely out of the blue and was shocking to discover that my fake nude images are circulating.' The original images depicted her in beachwear or bikinis, while the counterfeit photos featured her in nude poses.

The distribution of these images may have started in 2024 when the first fake representations of Sokka emerged in group chats. Sokka expressed her distress over the situation, explaining the difficulties she faced in clarifying to her family and friends that she had not transitioned into nude modeling. She feared the potential impact on her reputation and was uncertain about how many people had viewed the images and speculated about their authenticity.

In late 2025, Sokka found new forgeries of her images on foreign porn sites, prompting her to take action.
