LTG group company fined several thousand euros
The 'LTG Infra' company has been fined €7,500 for failing to comply with previous regulatory obligations, as revealed by an independent audit.
In a recent decision by the Regulatory Authority for Railways (RRT), the LTG Infra company has been fined €7,500 due to non-compliance with obligations imposed by the regulator. According to the RRT, an independent audit conducted earlier this year highlighted that certain requirements set forth by the authority had not been fulfilled. The penalties stem from an audit report submitted at the end of 2025, which revealed that the company had failed to adhere entirely to mandated accounting practices and recommendations from a prior audit.
The audit indicated that there were significant deficiencies in the accounting discipline of LTG Infra, particularly regarding the clarity of minimum access service to public railway infrastructure. It also identified shortcomings in the distribution of costs, the determination of cost allocation ratios, and the implementation of internal controls based on profitability assessments. These findings raise concerns about the company's financial practices and accountability within the public transport sector.
The imposed fine is part of a regulatory framework that may enforce maximum penalties up to €15,000 for such violations, underscoring the importance of strict compliance to ensure transparency and effective management of public resources. This case reflects the ongoing challenges faced by regulatory bodies to implement and enforce standards in the railway sector, aiming for a reliable and efficient service for users.
