Outrage over CM Yogi's mother comments, FIR against Maulana in 83 police stations

An offensive comment made by Bihar's Maulana Abdullah Salim about Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath's mother has sparked widespread outrage and multiple FIRs.

Maulana Abdullah Salim from Bihar has allegedly made derogatory and offensive remarks about Yogi Adityanath’s mother, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. In response to this statement, police registered a case against the Maulana based on a complaint from the president of the BJP district unit in Balrampur. Furthermore, complaints have been filed against him in 83 police stations across various districts of Uttar Pradesh, indicating the severity of the backlash and the unified response from the BJP.

The situation escalated significantly in Varanasi, a city that is known to be Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency. Members of the Hindu Yuva Vahini protested violently, gathering at their office near the Gorakhnath Temple before marching towards Maidagin Chowk. Protesters displayed their fury by beating a life-size effigy of the Maulana and then burning it. The Hindu youth organization also announced a reward of 2.1 million rupees for anyone who beheads Maulana Abdullah Salim, a chilling indication of the growing tensions and calls for violence resulting from the statements.

In addition to the protests in Varanasi, there were similar demonstrations in Lucknow, where youth demanded the Maulana’s immediate arrest at Atal Chowk. The incident reflects underlying communal tensions and highlights the volatile political atmosphere in Uttar Pradesh, where comments about religious figures can lead to severe public outrage and unrest. The escalating situation raises concerns about law and order, particularly with the involvement of political figures and extremist organizations calling for violent actions against individuals who make inflammatory remarks.
