Two suspects arrested for stealing valuables worth over 120 million won in Gangnam residential areas

Two men have been arrested in Seoul for stealing cash and valuables totaling over 120 million won from residential properties in the Gangnam district.

In Seoul's Gangnam district, police have apprehended two men in their 40s and 50s who are accused of committing a series of thefts in residential areas. These suspects allegedly broke into empty apartments and villas by damaging security screens on balconies. The thefts, which occurred on the 25th of last month, have affected at least four victims, amounting to a significant loss of over 120 million won in cash and valuables. The two suspects have a criminal history involving similar methods of theft, and recent investigations revealed that they were driven to commit these crimes due to financial difficulties. To evade police detection, they displayed cunning behavior by frequently changing their clothes and exclusively using cash for their transactions, making it harder for authorities to track them. The breakthrough in this case came after police analyzed closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, which allowed them to trace the suspects' movements. They were ultimately arrested on the 27th of last month near a subway station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. The successful arrest highlights the active measures being taken by law enforcement to combat residential burglaries in the area.
