A saltwater crocodile has been found in an unusual location far from its natural habitat in Queensland, and will be relocated by environmental officials.
Authorities in Queensland have reported a sighting of a saltwater crocodile measuring 2.3 metres in a dam located west of Brisbane, an area significantly outside the creature's typical habitat. Saltwater crocodiles are generally found in coastal regions stretching from Boyne River to Torres Strait, indicating that this particular crocodile was hundreds of kilometres from where it would normally be found. The environmental department has been alerted to the sighting and they have since managed to remove the crocodile from the dam, expressing intent to 'rehome' it appropriately.
