In Thiruvananthapuram, authorities have registered a case against the captain of an army ship after it collided with a fishing boat near the coast. The incident has left two fishermen missing, while nine others have been rescued. According to a police officer, the complaint was filed by Ramesh Mathew from Kollam, following the distressing event that occurred when the fishing boat set out for sea on Friday night.
The missing crew members are identified as Badal Das (23) and Lakshman Das (45), both hailing from West Bengal. The police have indicated that they have successfully rescued five fishermen from West Bengal and four from Tamil Nadu. Reports also mention injuries among the rescued fishermen, with a notable case of Baiju from Tamil Nadu suffering a spinal fracture and another, Bimal Das from West Bengal, sustaining serious injuries.
