Drugs, knuckle dusters, and knives on Corso Como. A busy night for the carabinieri
A 19-year-old Italian was arrested for drug possession and other individuals were reported for weapon offenses during a significant law enforcement operation in Milan.
On Saturday night, the carabinieri conducted a special operation in Milan's nightlife district, focusing on the area between Piazza XXV Aprile and Corso Como. The enforcement action was aimed at controlling illegal activities, resulting in one arrest and multiple reports for weapon-related offenses. During this operation, a 19-year-old Italian was apprehended after being found in possession of a significant amount of illegal drugs, including 39 grams of ketamine, 11 ecstasy pills, 65 grams of hashish, and 2.4 grams of cocaine.
In addition to the drugs, the arrestee was also noted to have a knuckle duster in his possession, leading to further charges for carrying a weapon or items designed to inflict harm. The law enforcement action included support from the 3rd Carabinieri Regiment of Lombardia, enhancing the effectiveness of the operation. The authorities highlighted the increasing need for such targeted operations in response to rising drug issues and safety concerns in bustling nightlife areas.
Furthermore, the operation led to the reporting of two other individuals, aged 37 and 19, for carrying knives, which reinforces the law enforcement's zero-tolerance policy toward weapon possession in public spaces. This proactive approach by law enforcement in Milan aims not only to combat drug trafficking but also to maintain the safety and security of citizens and visitors in popular nightlife zones, reflecting the city's commitment to addressing criminal activities.
