The recent conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran has prompted a dramatic increase in diesel prices in Jeju, South Korea, sparking alarm among local agricultural workers and delivery laborers who rely on diesel fuel. According to the Korea National Oil Corporation's oil price information system, the average price of diesel for vehicles in Jeju rose to 1960.16 Won per liter, slightly higher than the national average of 1917.73 Won. This increase reflects a sharp jump of over 320 Won within just ten days following significant military actions in the Middle East. The price of diesel in some gas stations even reached 2310 Won per liter, leaving local workers anxious about the implications for their livelihoods as other operational costs rise alongside fuel expenses.
