Slight relief: electricity prices on the stock exchange will drop by a tenth on Monday

Electricity prices in Estonia are set to decrease by 10.9% on Monday, according to Nord Pool's data, with variances in rates throughout the day.

As reported by Nord Pool, the average price of electricity for Monday in Estonia's pricing area will be 80.48 euros per megawatt-hour, reflecting a 10.9% decrease compared to Sunday. The peak price of the day is anticipated to occur between 18:45 and 19:00, when the price will reach 247.59 euros per megawatt-hour. Conversely, the lowest rates will be found during the night around 01:45 and 02:00, with a price of only 34.60 euros.

In comparison to neighboring countries, Estonia enjoys relatively lower electricity prices, with only Finland having cheaper rates, averaging at 72.02 euros. In contrast, both Latvia and Lithuania are experiencing higher prices, with electricity costing approximately 14.7% more in those countries than in Estonia, averaging 92.30 euros per megawatt-hour. This disparity highlights the regional differences in market dynamics and pricing strategies among the Baltic states.

The drop in electricity prices in Estonia comes amid broader trends in energy markets, potentially providing some relief for consumers who have been facing rising costs. However, the fluctuations in pricing throughout the day indicate that consumers and businesses will need to remain vigilant and plan their energy usage according to the hourly price variations.
